To enter Jamaica a valid passport is required. Citizens of the U.S, the UK, Canada and other major European countries are not required to have a visa to visit Jamaica, but must present a valid passport when leaving and or re-entering their country. The electrical supply in Jamaica is 110 volts/50 cycles standard, and electrical appliances use plugs that are two-pronged and flat (such as those used in the United States and Canada).If your appliances do not use 110 volts or flat two-pronged plugs, we recommend bringing the requisite adaptors and converters with you. For your convenience, hair dryers are provided in every Jewel guest room.

Yes, a credit is required upon check-in for any incidental charges during your stay. If you prefer to not give a credit card cash may be used, a deposit in the amount of $200 USD per room is required upon check in.
Once you arrive at Jewel Resorts, nearly everything is already included in the price you have paid. Please budget for items such as Spa treatments, optional tours and attractions, gift shop items, phone calls, P.A.D.I. certification or refresher courses, and local vendor purchases. US dollars are widely accepted in Jamaica and actually recommended. Most items will be priced USD, but keep in mind local vendors may not have change so we suggest you bring smaller bills.
All guest rooms have an in-room electronic safe deposit box. We advise guests to place travel documents and any other valuables in this secure place.
Jewel Resorts understands that severe weather events may cause our guests to consider changing their travel plans. With this in mind, we offer our guests the following Hurricane Policy valid from June 1 through November 30 and Inclement Weather Policy valid from January 1 to Feb 28. These policies applies only to rooms that are reserved directly with Jewel Resorts. If your reservation is made through a travel agent or travel wholesaler, please refer to the policy advised by that company.If you have products and services provided by third party suppliers included in your vacation, such as airline tickets, car rentals or vacation insurance, you will continue to be responsible for any non-refundable payments, cancellation or change fees assessed by those suppliers.
In the event that there is a Hurricane Warning for a Category 1 or higher (as defined by the U.S. National Weather Service) within the dates of your reservations and within the region where the resort is located, Jewel Resorts will offer you the following options:
Guests who are at the property and opt to depart early: penalties will be waived and guests will receive a credit for travel up to one year for the number of nights interrupted; to be booked through the same channel as the original reservation.
Guests who are scheduled to arrive at the resort and opt to cancel within 48 hours of arrival: penalties will be waived and guests will receive a credit for travel for the number of nights originally booked.
Guests who arrive later than the scheduled arrival day: penalties will be waived and guests will receive a credit for travel for the number of nights originally booked.
Stay credits:
Jewel Resorts will guarantee the original rate, inclusive of discounts and value added items for re-booked travel through December 15 of the current year and from June 1 – November 30 of the following year, subject to availability and applicable promotions.
The alternative stay dates must be reserved within 14 days of cancellation and will be in an equivalent room category to the one originally booked. All reservations are subject to availability and may also be subject to blackout restrictions.

Over the years, Jamaica has developed extensive water treatment and supply systems; island wide, so all drinking water in Jamaica is purified and filtered by modern methods. Our water is safe for you to drink, clean your teeth, bathe and wash clothing in. If you choose not to drink the water, rest assured; there are many brands of Jamaican spring water that meet or exceed the highest international standards, available at most shops and restaurants for an additional fee.
There is a Registered Nurse on the premises with scheduled hours. Should you need medical attention, there is a doctor on call 24-hours a day. You will be responsible for all charges for medical services provided on property, or if the doctor is called or if a prescription is needed. All hospital services referred are at an additional cost.
